The long wait is almost over – the Brisbane Broncos are coming to 4 Pines Park in 2025 on Saturday, May 31.
The release of the 2025 Telstra Premiership draw sees the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles tackling the Broncos for the first time on their traditional Brookvale home ground since August 1, 2014. The match kicks off at 7.35pm.
The Broncos clash will be one of 12 home games played at 4 Pines Park by the Sea Eagles in 2025 after the club decided against taking a home game away next season.
It comes on the back of an unprecedented 2024 season that saw the Sea Eagles sell out eight of their 10 home games at 4 Pines Park with Manly averaging 16,473 fans per game this season.
Previously, the Sea Eagles struck a commercial deal in 2015 with Suncorp Stadium to take their home games against Brisbane from Brookvale to the Broncos' home ground.
Of the three games played at Suncorp Stadium between 2016-18, the Sea Eagles emerged victorious once. The introduction of the NRL Magic Round in 2019 saw the deal become an automatic Friday night fixture.
There is little doubt the Broncos will be greeted with a very ‘warm’ welcome back to Brookvale from Manly supporters in what is expected to be another huge crowd.
The last time the two clubs met at Brookvale was on August 1, 2014, when the Sea Eagles recorded a 16-4 victory under Coach Geoff Toovey in front of more than 12,000 fans on a Friday night.
The Sea Eagles wore a special ‘Wolverine’ design jersey that night in tribute to actor and long time Manly fan, Hugh Jackman.
Sea Eagles captain Jamie Lyon scored half of Manly’s points through a try and two goals after the scores were locked at 4-all at half-time.
