Three time winner Tom Trbojevic joins elite goup

Humble as always, Tom Trbojevic just took it all in his stride in his own way.

Greeted by excited team-mates and proud family members, the man known to all as 'Turbo' had just scooped up the major awards of Best and Fairest and Players' Player at the 2024 Sea Eagles presentation night at The Star Event Centre in Darling Harbour.

It was a great effort by the 27-year-old who has enjoyed another fine season for the Sea Eagles, scoring 17 tries in 18 games despite suffering a hamstring injury in round 10 against the Dolphins that sidelined him for eight weeks.

Furthermore, Trbojevic became just the fourth Manly player to have won the prestigious Roy Bull Best and Fairest award three times, having already claimed it in 2016 and 2021.

His name now appears alongside former premiership winning forward Glenn Stewart, current Manly captain and club record holder for most games, Daly Cherry-Evans, and that of older brother Jake Trbojevic.

"It's special. Obviously I have a lot of respect for everyone in the group and I love playing with them,'' Trbojevic said.

"To be recognised as the best amongst them this year is hard to put into words. Very humbling.

"To be in the same group now as Jake, Daly and Glenn as three time winners is very special.

"I was a massive fan of Gifty's growing up and I played with 'Snake', an absolute legend.

"It is pretty cool to be only the fourth player to win the award three times. I certainly don't put myself in their calibre. It's quite humbling.

"This award is extra special after hurting myself mid-year. Just the way I came back, that's what I look back on with this. I just love playing football."
