Guy Williams named 2025 Blacktown Workers NSW Cup Coach

Blacktown Workers and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are proud to announce the appointment of Guy Williams as Head Coach of the NSW Cup team for 2025.

Williams has been very successful in his role as the Sea Eagles Training Co-ordinator and Transition Coach for the past two seasons as part of Anthony Seibold’s Coaching Staff at Manly.

A former NRL back-rower with the Brisbane Broncos, Williams played a record 238 Intrust Super Cup games for the Central Queensland Comets/Capras. He was also the Capras’ Head Coach in 2021.

Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles GM of Football Todd Darvall welcomed the appointment.

“Guy has a proven track record in developing and nurturing young talent,’’ Darvall said.

“This perfectly aligns with our vision and direction that we are taking as a club for the 2025 season.

“We cannot wait for Guy to take charge of his first preseason in early November. Our Club welcomes Guy and his partner Sally to the Blacktown Workers family.”

Seibold said Williams thoroughly deserved the Head Coaching role at Blacktown Workers.

“Guy has been our development coach and our training co-ordinator for the past two years and he has done a very good job with that,’’ Seibold said.

“We wanted to give Guy his own team that he can fully focus on for 2025. We want the Blacktown Workers relationship to be a really positive one and we want to see improved performances.

“Guy has a strong connection with the NRL playing group through his relationships and communication skills, which are very much his strong points.

“We feel this is a great appointment by Blacktown Workers and ourselves to help improve the NSW Cup program.

“Guy comes from a school teaching background. He has been in charge of the Elite Pathways program for Queensland Rugby League, and he coached his own Qld Cup team.

“He comes with good experience. He has done a tremendous job with the likes of Lehi Hopoate and Clayton Faulalo over the last couple of months.

“Guy is a very hardworking, trustworthy, reliable and consistent person day-to-day and through his actions, he has earned the respect of the group.”
