Manly face must win game in Flegg final round

It's a do-or-die scenario for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in the final round of the Jersey Flegg Cup on Saturday, August 31.

With the top five teams contesting the finals, Manly have slipped to sixth position on 30 points, one point behind the fifth-placed Cronulla.

The Sea Eagles must now beat the second-placed Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground and then hope the 11th placed Warriors can spring an upset over the Sharks.

The Bulldogs have lost three of their past four games, including the last two matches away, but return to their home ground as they look to finish the regular season in second place.

Manly head into the game on the back of a heartbreaking 23-22 loss to the Wests Tigers at Lidcombe Oval last Saturday.

Trailing 10-6 at the break after a series of first half errors, the Sea Eagles scored in two minute to taker the lead before Manly levelled the score in the 67th minute.

The Tigers then kicked the winning field goal to move into eighth place with the finals out of reach.
