Manly suffer shock loss to Tigers in Harvey Norman

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles let slip an opportunity to move closer to the top five in the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership with a shock 44-20 loss to Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval today.

The loss leaves the Sea Eagles in seventh position with three rounds remaining before the finals with the win seeing Wests Tigers move off the bottom of the ladder.

Manly remain on seven points, just one behind the Bulldogs and the Dragons ahead of next Sunday's crucial home game against the second placed Illawarra Steelers at 4 Pines Park.

The Sea Eagles then finish the regular season against the Bulldogs and the bottom placed Cronulla.

The Tigers dominated the opening 20 minutes on their home turf to take a 16-0 lead through two tries to full-back Tess Staines and one to winger Darcy Eade.

Manly opened their account through a try to winger Georgia Sim in the 21st minute for a 16-4 scoreline after diving over in the right corner from a pass from centre Mollie Tagaloa.

Wests Tigers extended their lead to 20-4 through a try to winger Claudia Nielsen 10 minutes later which they took into half-time.

Manly reduced the margin to 12 when strong forward Alianna Tonuu crashed through three defenders to score under the posts five minutes after half-time for a 20-8 scoreline.

Eade then blew the game apart after she crossed for three more converted tries within 13 minutes to give Wests Tigers a commanding 38-8 lead after 54 minutes.

Sim then crossed for her second for Manly when she planted the ball down from a perfect short kick from five-eighth Makayla Eli to leave the visitors trailing 38-14.

Manly got back to 38-20 when Paris Ingegneri dived over from dummy half to score next to the posts in the 63rd minute before Wests Tigers finished the game off with a converted try to lock Jessica Kennedy.

The ColourMaker player of the match award went to Sim for her two tries.
