Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today further extended the contract of giant prop Taniela Paseka until the end of 2029.
Off contract at the Sea Eagles at the end of 2026, the new three-year-deal will keep the 26-year-old front-rower as Manly’s main enforcer with an opportunity to finish his career as a one-club player.
Paseka, who stands at 197cm and 120kg, has played 112 games for the Sea Eagles since his NRL debut against the Wests Tigers in 2018.
In 15 games this season, Paseka has made 24 tackle breaks and is averaging 127 metres per game with his powerful runs.
Manly Coach Anthony Seibold said Paseka has really grown over the past 18 months as a player and a person.
“I feel like Taniela has been playing the best football of his career,’’ Seibold said.
“He is still in his mid-20s, so his best footy is going to continue to develop over the next four of five seasons, which is the reason why we have signed him long term.
“Taniela has built consistency in his game. We want him to take that consistency even further and develop leadership into his game. He is a father now, so he is ready to become a leader at our club.
“I feel like Taniela and Haumole Olakau’atu are big, strong athletic players. Their power, along with our speed in guys like Jason Saab and Tolu Koula who we have also signed long term, gives us some really good weapons to use going forward.”
Paseka said he was very proud to be extending his time at such a great club like Manly.
"This contract means I'm now a Sea Eagle for life,'' Paseka said.
"I'm very grateful. It’s a proud club. We have the best fans in the game and I love running out at 4 Pines Park. There’s no better feeling.
