Talented team...the Sea Eagles celebrate a try against the Central Coast Roosters

A wonderful and exciting opportunity to play in front of a big home crowd in an NRL curtain raiser awaits Manly's talented Harvey Norman Women's NSW Premiership team on Sunday, July 21.

The Sea Eagles take on Newcastle Knights at 1.45pm at 4 Pines in round three  as they chase their first win of their inaugural season in the open women's competition that is a step below the NRLW.

Manly head into the match on the back of a 14-all draw against the Central Coast Roosters following an 18-10 loss to the Parramatta Eels at 4 Pines Park in round one.

The Knights recorded a 40-4 win over Mounties at home last week after suffering a 34-12 to the Bulldogs in round one.

The Sea Eagles came from an 18 point deficit after 20 minutes against the Eels in round one to show plenty of fight to stay in the game.

Manly then led 10-4 at half-time against the Central Coast Roosters and had their chances to secure victory, but some crucial errors proved costly as they secured their first competition point.

"We've got some facets in our game where we need to be much more consistent,'' said Coach Keith Hanley.

"Our players are all highly excited to be back at 4 Pines Park as the NRL curtain raiser game on Sunday.

"It certainly means a great deal to play in front of our local community.

"The girls have been hugely grateful for all the support they have received and are hoping to deliver an improved performance for our fans."

The Sea Eagles squad features several local players raised on the Northern Beaches in Teagan Long, Chelsea Smyth, Pier Pritchard, Maddison Binding, Lili Boyle, Paris Ingegenri, Nicole Backhouse, Aaliyah Paki, and Riley McKay.

Furthermore, seven players have progressed to the Harvey Norman NSW Women's team after playing for Manly in the U19s Tarsha Gale Cup competition over the past two years.
