Manly present cheques from ANZAC Round jersey auction

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have proudly presented cheques to three great charity organisations as proceeds of the club's ANZAC Round jersey auction.

Sea Eagles supporters were given the opportunity to bid on authentic signed player-issued match jerseys from the 32-18 win over the Parramatta Eels at 4 Pines Park, Brookvale, in late April.

This year's ANZAC Round Jersey paid special tribute to the Royal Australian Navy, featuring three gold chevrons referencing the chevron placed on the sleeve of a Naval Officer for each four years of good conduct.

Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov this week presented cheques for $2939.30 to Invictus Australia, Northern Beaches Division Legacy Club, and Northern Beaches Veteran Wellbeing Centre at an afternoon tea event at Brookvale on Tuesday.

The Northern Beaches Wellbeing Centre were represented by Craig Horner (Veteran Wellbeing Centre Coordinator) and Dave Anderson (Head of RSL Lifecare Veteran Services).

Invictus Australia were represented by Jye Martyn (Regional Manager, Veteran Engagement)

Northern Beaches Legacy were represented by Barry Nolan (Legatee) and Paula Murphy (Legatee)

Invictus Australia

Invictus Australia carries the spirit of the Invictus Games beyond the event itself, focusing on the long-term recovery and reintegration of veterans and their families through sport. It partners with various sporting and community organizations to provide opportunities from grassroots participation to international competition. The organization emphasizes the physical, social, and emotional benefits of sports, especially for younger veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. By fostering community involvement and camaraderie, Invictus Australia aims to create a sustainable and supportive environment for veterans across the Country.

Legacy Australia

Legacy Australia is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Founded on a promise made during World War I, Legacy provides financial, social, and emotional support to ensure that these families do not face hardship alone. The organization offers services such as educational assistance for children, financial aid for widows, and social activities to foster community connections. Legacy's work helps families build resilience and stability, honoring the sacrifices made by their loved ones

Northern Beaches Veteran Wellbeing Centres

Northern Beaches, Veteran Wellbeing Centres, aims to deliver holistic support to veterans and their families. These centres provide a comprehensive range of services, including health care, housing, social connections, and employment support. The goal is to facilitate a smooth transition from military to civilian life, ensuring veterans can access the resources they need for a fulfilling and healthy post-service life. By integrating various support services, RSL LifeCare creates a community-focused approach to veteran care.
