Sea Eagles set for Eels in sold out clash

A sold out 4 Pines Park will host a blockbuster clash this Friday night when the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles tackle arch rivals the Parramatta Eels in ANZAC Round.

Here are some key things to know in our match preview.

The Eels suffered a 44-16 loss to the Dolphins in a home game in Darwin to sit in 14th place with three wins from seven games.

Parramatta recorded a 28-24 victory over the Sea Eagles in round three at CommBank Stadium.

Team Changes

The return of prop Josh Aloiai from suspension pushes Matt Lodge to the bench and Aaron Woods to 18th man. Nathan Brown (knee) is also back on deck.

ANZAC Jersey

The Sea Eagles will wear a special commemorative ANZAC Round jersey that pays tribute to the men and women who have served in the Royal Australian Navy.

Worn with white shorts and socks to give a comprehensive NAVY feel, the jersey design is reflective of the values of the Australian Defence Force; Service, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Excellence.

Purchase your ANZAC jersey here through our Official Online store or at the merchandise outlets inside 4 Pines Park.

Tribute to Terry Hill

Manly will wear black armbands as a mark of respect for former premiership winning centre Terry Hill following his sudden passing at the age of 52. There will also be a special tribute.

Hill made his club debut for Manly under Coach Bob Fulton, going on to score 64 tries in 142 first grade games for the Sea Eagles between 1994-99 and 2005.

He was a member of Manly's 1996 premiership winning team that defeated St George 20-8 in the Grand Final.

A real larrikin, Hill was one of the game’s premier centres and was a much loved character and real cult hero amongst Manly fans.

Try time for Reuben

Sea Eagles centre Reuben Garrick has scored 11 tries in 11 games against the blue and gold.

Garrick's best individual effort against the Eels was a 28 point haul through three tries and eight goals on the Sunshine Coast in 2021.

The 'Fortress' is firing

Manly faithful, stand, cheer and give yourselves a pat on the back, for 4 Pines Park is officially a sell-out for the third consecutive home game this year.

How good is it! And the tremendous support is definitely lifting and inspiring the players with the Sea Eagles having scored 107 points in their past three games at 4 Pines Park.

Furthermore, Sea Eagles fullback Tom Trbojevic has scored four tries in his past five games so look for another dominant performance from 'Turbo' against the Eels.
