Sea Eagles sign Corey Waddell

Former Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forward Corey Waddell will return to Brookvale in season 2024.

The Sea Eagles have signed Waddell on a one-year contract for 2024.

Waddell played 36 games for the Sea Eagles in 2019-20 before playing 59 matches for Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs over the last three years.

A hard running back-rower and solid defender, Waddell has played 95 first grade matches since making his NRL debut for Manly in 2019.

Sea Eagles Coach Anthony Seibold welcomed 27-year-old Waddell back ‘home’.

“Corey brings to us plenty of experience. He has got really strong relationships with many of the players here already,’’ Seibold said.

“The thing that interested me in Corey is his work ethic. He is a very hard worker. He adds a different sort of dimension to the middle forwards that we have already got.

“We feel like Corey adds further competition for spots and depth to our squad in 2024.”
