Reuben Garrick has added another chapter to his impressive career at Manly after breaking a long-standing record to enter the top five list for most points for the Sea Eagles.
Garrick's six points against the Warriors last Friday night in Auckland moved him into fifth place on 962 points (67 tries, 347 goals) in 112 games since making his NRL debut for Manly in 2019.
He surpassed the great Ron Willey’s record of 958 points (20 tries, 449 goals) achieved in 123 between 1956-62.
Rugby league tries were changed from three to four points in 1982.
With Garrick contracted to the Sea Eagles until the end of the 2027 season, the club record for most points for Manly of 1917 held by the great Graham Eadie is well within reach.
Garrick has become a record-breaking player for Manly in recent seasons.
The 26-year-old was the NRL’s Top Point Scorer and Dally M Winger of the Year in 2021 and in doing so, set a new club record for 'Most Points in a Season' with 334 points (23 tries, 121 goals, 27 games).
Garrick became the first player in rugby league to score 20 tries and 100 goals in a premiership season with his feats in 2021.
He also broke the all-time record for most points by a player in the NRL regular season, beating Hazem El Masri’s record of 288 points set in 2004.
