Manly Chairman Scott Penn was extremely pleased with the inclusion of the Sea Eagles.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the Sea Eagles to be part of a history making event in front of a huge audience in America,'' Penn said.

“The speed and physicality of the NRL and the amazing skills of our players will captivate the American sporting public.

"They are going to love seeing our sport live and will showcase the NRL in the entertainment capital of the world.

Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said it was a great honour to play in Las Vegas.

“To be chosen as one of the four clubs to be involved in this historic NRL season opener is just a real privilege for our great Club,'' Mestrov said.

“This event, and the huge week of activities that are being planned, will capture the attention of a global audience.

"The Americans will love seeing what our brilliant game offers. The NRL has always been the toughest contact sport in the world and now people in America will get the chance to witness two premiership matches live.

“We have already held discussions with our Senior Partner, Trip a Deal, about arranging special travel packages for Manly Members, corporate partners, and supporters wishing to be part of this unique opportunity.

“The interest is certainly there so we will keep our Members informed of any opportunities that can be offered.

"This has been a long-time goal of our great owners, the Penn family, to bring the Sea Eagles to America and now that it is going to happen is just an amazing feeling. A lot of hard work and investment has gone into making this become a reality."
