Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today honoured one of their most respected staff members in Sonia Dorsett
As part of the annual Women in League Round, the NRL called on each club to nominate a 'Women in League Role Model' with the Sea Eagles more than proud to nominate Dorsett, the Club's Pathways Co-ordinator.
Dorsett's warm and endearing nature has seen her form many lasting friendships with players and staff over the years after working across NSW Cup, Tarsha Gale and Lisa Fiaola teams for the Sea Eagles.
Her passion and commitment to the club can never be questioned. Dorsett often goes above and beyond her duties to check in on a player or staff member's welfare and life away from the field, be it with a visit, a phone call, or even just with a comforting hug.
It's why she was the perfect person for the club's inaugural women's teams this season and just one of the many great reasons why the much-loved Dorsett received a huge round of applause when receiving her award this morning, much to her shock.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said Dorsett has worked for over 20 years in the NSW Rugby League family.
"Sonia's dedication and commitment to the game has made a significant impact on transitioning players from grass roots through to NRL within the Wellbeing and Education space for the Junior Pathways for both boys and girls at the Manly Sea Eagles,'' Mestrov said.
Women in League: Sonia Dorsett
"More recently, Sonia played an integral role in the administration of the first ever Tarsha Gale and Lisa Fiaola teams for the Manly Sea Eagles.
"We congratulate Sonia on this award and for her outstanding contribution to our club."
