Manly Warringah Sea Eagles face an acid test against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in round 11 of the NSWRL Jersey Flegg Cup on Sunday, May 14.
The bottom placed Sea Eagles will be out to snap a two-game losing streak when they tackle the third placed Sharks in the first game of a triple header at 4 Pines Park.
With all teams having a bye last weekend, Sea Eagles Coach Leon Latulipe will be hoping for a much improved performance from his side after a 42-24 defeat to the Sydney Roosters in their last outing.
Trailing 18-12 at half-time, tries from Daniel O’Donnell, Latu Fainu, and a double from James Uesele weren’t enough as the Roosters outscored Manly eight tries to four.
The Sea Eagles will miss the impact of Uesele's strong running game and solid defence, with the promising young forward named to play for Blacktown Workers in the NSW Cup.
Uesele has also scored six tries this season, three ahead of winger Cameron Brown and second-rower Kylan Mafoa.
Fainu heads into the game on the back of scoring a try for City in their 30-10 win over Country in the annual U18s rep match at Kogarah last Saturday.
The Sharks have won six of their eight games with Manly recording two wins from nine matches.
