Manly out to keep momentum rolling in Jersey Flegg

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be out to make it three wins from their past four games in the NSWRL Jersey Flegg Cup at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 23.

The Sea Eagles go into the match against the Wests Tigers on the back of a tough 24-16 away victory over the Canberra Raiders last Saturday after leading 14-0 at half-time.

Both sides scored three tries each at Seiffert Oval with some astute goal-kicking from full-back Blake Metcalf proving the difference. Metcalfe kicked six from six.

It was a much- improved performance by the Sea Eagles who went down 30-16 to Penrith the week before after a disappointing first half saw Manly trail by 20 points at half-time. A week earlier, Manly recorded their first win of the season over Newcastle.

The Sea Eagles will be without five-eighth Latu Fainu for the game against Wests Tigers after he was selected to play his first NSW Cup game for Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles.

Manly will have to keep a close eye on prolific tryscoring centre Josh Feledy, who will be out for a strong performance against his former club.

Feledy, who formed a lethal combination with Latu at the Sea Eagles, is now part of the Tigers’ full-time NRL squad.

Wests Tigers go into the game on the back of a 34-20 loss to St George-Illawarra Dragons last week, in which Feledy crossed for two tries.

A Manly victory would see them join the ninth placed Tigers on six competition points.

Kick-off at Campbelltown Stadium is 11.50am in the first match of a triple header. See the Sea Eagles team here
