Sea Eagles girls challenged to rise to new level

Fresh from a bye, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be looking to further build on their dominant last start win in the Tarsha Gale Cup against South Sydney this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles demolished St George Dragons 48-14 at Mascot Oval in round six with centre Taleenza Nelson becoming the first female player to score a hat-trick for the club in the U19 women’s competition.

Manly Coach Nik Wolfgramm said the bye came at a good time for the Sea Eagles who have done fairly well in their first season in the Tarsha Gale Cup, winning two of their six games and being more than competitive every week.

“We had a much needed rest last week with the bye. Our players were able to get over little niggling injuries and refreshen for the last few weeks of the season,’’ Wolfgramm said.

“I’ve rewarded the same team that played so well against St George and have challenged them to get the job done against Souths this week.

“There's always an excitement after a win but even more so coming off a bye.

“We are not getting ahead of ourselves as there is still plenty of learning to be done, but we do want to finish the season strongly and repay the club and fans for their support.

“Souths, like everyone in this comp, on their day can put a number on you. We have to be on our game.”

The Tarsha Gale Cup match kicks off at 11.30am at Erskinville Oval. See the Manly team here
