Exciting youngsters get first taste of SG Ball

Some more promising young players will get the opportunity to get their first taste of SG Ball Cup for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles go into the game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on the back of a frustrating 38-18 loss to the Parramatta Eels at home last weekend.

Sea Eagles Coach Brett Fulton said it was a disappointing day against the Eels.

“We were leading again but we gave the game to them through simple errors off the kick off and some early unforced errors,’’ Fulton said.

“This week gives us the opportunity to blood some more of our young squad members with Lenny Plati, Roy Mapapsua and Calvin Levy joining Lehi Hopoate, Jake Fulton, Rene Bagon, Zedrick Tupula and Mitchell and Maxwell Touta as year younger players.

“The experience will put them and the team in a good position moving forward.”

The round eight match kicks off at Redfern Oval at 1.15pm. The Sea Eagles sit in 14th position with the Rabbitohs in 15th place with two rounds of the regular season remaining.
