An immediate overhaul of match-day facilities and service for patrons at 4 Pines Park is set to begin from the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles’ home game against Parramatta Eels on Thursday, March 16.
The news follows a meeting called by Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov, which included community and partner stakeholders represented by members of NSW Police, Northern Beaches Council and the club’s service and security providers.
“We are planning for more food and beverage outlets that will give fans greater access points for faster food and drinks service,” Mestrov said.
“The purpose of our meeting with council, police, security and food and beverage partners was to address the issues we had during the opening NRL fixture against the Bulldogs.
“I am pleased to say there was a general acceptance and agreement that we must work together in the best interests of the fans and the community, and in a responsible and safe manner.
“One of the major issues with our home game against the Bulldogs was a connectivity issue with WIFI, which impacted the payments system at all points of sale – and we have taken steps to resolve this for our match against the Eels.
“But we also discussed ways to improve access and flow of service for patrons wanting food, drinks and bathroom access.
“Our opening game was a sell-out and with membership at all-time record levels, we will also be exploring longer term solutions that fit with our future plans for the venue.”
With another large crowd expected, Mestrov encouraged supporters to make full use of public transport for next Thursday's home game against Parramatta at 4 Pines Park. Kick-off 8pm.
