Did someone say KFC?
KFC, a current Senior Partner of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, have extended their incredible support in season 2023.
The long-standing Corporate Partner will now have their famous KFC logo appear on the front of Manly’s NRL playing shorts for all games this year.
One of the world’s most recognisable companies, KFC is a global chicken restaurant brand with a rich, decades-long history of success and innovation.
And just like the Manly Club, it too has a wonderful history dating back to its humble beginnings of more than 75 years ago.
It started with one cook, Colonel Harland Sanders, who created a finger lickin’ good recipe—the legendary 11 secret herbs and spices.
In 1950 - just three years after Manly’s inaugural season, the Colonel donned his iconic white suit for the first time.
Two years later, the first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant opens in Utah, USA.
At the same time, the Manly Club was also forging its own unique pathway by making their first ever grand final in 1951.
Just like the first KFC restaurant in Utah, the grand final appearance signalled the true arrival of the Manly club.
Eight premierships later, and featuring a wealth of Test and International players over the years, the Manly Sea Eagles remain one of the strongest and most popular brands in the world of rugby league.
And as for KFC, it now has more than 25,000 restaurants in over 145 countries and territories around the world.
Furthermore, KFC has four restaurants in the Sea Eagles’ heartland on the Northern Beaches. Stores are located in Dee Why, Manly Vale, Frenchs Forest, and Mona Vale.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said there was great synergy between the Sea Eagles and KFC.
“The partnership we have with KFC is a very significant one and it is great to have this worldwide brand on the front of our playing shorts,’’ Mestrov said.
“KFC is heavily involved in the NRL through a number of different areas and we are delighted to have them on board once again as a Senior Partner.
“The Sea Eagles and KFC, two brands that will continue to grow even stronger and bigger in 2023.”
KFC CMO, Sally Spriggs, says KFC are proud to be extending their partnership with Sea Eagles.
"KFC is a proud supporter of footy, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to champion the passion of fans through our expanded partnership with the mighty Sea Eagles,'' Spriggs said.
"As we approach the season kick-off for 2023, KFC looks forward to celebrating the Sea Eagles’ achievements with fans and connecting them with the sport (and food) they love."
