The Penn Family, the owners of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Owners, have today generously agreed to match the total money raised for Bear Cottage through the Club's fundraising challenge.
Inspired by the incredible support the Sea Eagles players and staff have received from Manly supporters and the community in general, the Penn Family wanted to show their amazing support to help Bear Cottage, the only children’s hospice in NSW.
Located in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Bear Cottage is a very special place that is dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Led by Captain Daly Cherry-Evans, the players shaved their heads on Thursday to help raise funds for Bear Cottage. They also donated $10,000 from the Club for winning the $100,000 NRL Pre-season Challenge last week.
When the donation page closed this afternoon, $38,607 had been raised. With the Penn Family now matching this figure, the total amount is an incredible $77,214.

"What our players and staff have been able to achieve in just one week of fundraising is certainly inspiring,'' Owner Rick Penn said.
"There is such a very good feeling of positivity and happiness throughout the Club and amongst our Members and supporters heading into the season next week. And great initiatives like this only helps to build that.

"When I saw the amount raised, I was just so proud. I am more than happy to match the total amount raised on behalf of the Penn Family."
