Back to business for Sea Eagles girls after famous win

Fresh from their historic victory in the Tarsha Gale Cup, the message is clear this week for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles – it’s back to business.

There were scenes of jubilation amongst a few tears as the Sea Eagles produced a most passionate performance to snatch a 16-12 victory over the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown last Saturday with the girls becoming the first female team in Manly’s rich history to represent the club.

“There is definitely a lift in spirits and confidence. It’s about not getting carried away but at the same time enjoying the moment,’’ said Coach Nik Wolfgramm.

“The first thing we did back at training was to show them that there was still a lot of work to be done to be a competitive team this year.

“We will take the win. We have reset ourselves and it’s now on to the next game.”

Wolfgramm said the team focused on improving their attack this week at training ahead of Saturday's clash against Parramatta Eels at Kellyville Park.

“I thought we defended well but needed to tidy up on our attack and completing our sets,’’ he added.

“We really haven’t looked too much into Parramatta. They went down to a team that is probably the bench mark and last year’s winners. They wouldn’t want to go down two weeks in a row.”

The round two match kicks off at 10am.
