The countdown to the world’s biggest footy festival is officially on, as the National Rugby League (NRL) announced that tickets for NRL Magic Round Brisbane 2023 are on sale from today.
The three-day feast of footy, music, food and fun is back at Suncorp Stadium on May 5-7, including a Magic Round debut for new hometown heroes, the Dolphins.
With tickets available before Christmas, fans can snap up the perfect gift for friends or family. NRL club members and NRL account holders can purchase three-day passes today, before they go on sale to the general public from 10am tomorrow.
Three-day passes start from just $99 for adults and $269 for families.
“NRL Magic Round Brisbane is a unique experience for fans,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said. “The passion and colour of our tribal fans and a weekend of food, fun and festivities - all together in one place over a Magic weekend.”
“With a new team and new rivalries to take the stage this year, I’m looking forward to NRL Magic Round Brisbane 2023 being our most memorable yet.”
There’s blockbuster match-ups and Queensland interest on all three days, beginning with a headline clash between the Brisbane Broncos and Manly Sea Eagles under Friday night lights.
Saturday’s triple header includes Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins making their Magic Round bow against the Cronulla Sharks, before two heavyweights clash as South Sydney Rabbitohs meet Melbourne Storm on Saturday night.
On Sunday, the North Queensland Cowboys face off against the Sydney Roosters, before the Gold Coast Titans bring the curtain down on a Magic weekend against Parramatta Eels.
Magic Round Brisbane is supported by the Queensland Government, via Tourism and Events Queensland, together with Brisbane City Council, via Brisbane Economic and Development Agency.
Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, said the born and bred Brisbane event will transform the city into a footy festival.
“NRL Magic Round Brisbane is a win-win for footy fans and our local economy, with this year’s event bringing in more than $27.4 million in economic activity and 30,000 visitors to our city,” he said.
“With fans flocking from across Australia, and Warriors’ supporters crossing the Tasman Sea, we look forward to welcoming even more visitors to the city to stay, spend and spectate over one Magic weekend.”
Queensland Tourism and Sport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said Magic Round 2023 would be another blockbuster.
“NRL Magic Round brings back-to-back appointment football to the world’s best rectangular stadium in Australia’s rugby league heartland,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“Thousands of fans travel to Brisbane for NRL Magic Round to be part of the amazing atmosphere at Suncorp Stadium and to enjoy more of Queensland’s great lifestyle.
“NRL Magic Round 2022 made history with tickets and accommodation selling out and a $27.4 million bonanza for the visitor economy and Queensland jobs.
"With four Queensland teams on the paddock for the first time, we’re certain of another round of history-making Magic – and three-day NRL Magic Round passes becoming this year’s most wanted festive season gift.”
Three-day passes can be purchased now through nrl.com/tickets. Single day tickets will go on sale from 12 December.
