Tom Trbojevic sets new Club record for Most Tries In A Season

The long standing record for Most Tries in a Season for Manly set by the magical Phil Blake has fallen to brilliant Sea Eagles full-back Tom Trbojevic.

Blake set the record of 27 tries in 24 games, including finals, as the Manly half-back in the 1983 NSWRL competition.

Twenty-four-year-old Trbojevic broke the record when he crossed for his 28th try in 18 games this season in last night's Preliminary Final loss to South Sydney at Suncorp Stadium.

A week earlier, Trbojevic broke the record of most tries in a season by a full-back of 26 set by Penrith's Rhys Wesser in 2003 with a two try haul in the Elimination Semi-Final win over the Sydney Roosters. The two tries saw him join Blake on 27.

Electrifying winger Jason Saab moved into third place on the Most Tries in A Season for Manly after finishing on 26 tries in a superb first year at the Sea Eagles.

Points scoring winger Reuben Garrick joined the great Kevin Junee in fourth place on 23 tries after crossing for a double against the Rabbitohs.
