Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have taken further positive steps in retaining talent within the current squad.
The Sea Eagles have re-signed hooker Lachlan Croker and have also extended the contract of centre Morgan Harper. Both players will now remain at the Sea Eagles until at least the end of the 2023 season.
The Club has also taken up its option on experienced five-eighth Kieran Foran for 2022.
Croker has been a revelation this year having made a very successful transition to the hooking role this season. He is a clever dummy half and strong defender who provides great service and balance to the team.
Harper has been tremendously successful for the Sea Eagles since joining the Club in March last year.
A fierce competitor, Harper provides plenty of strike power out wide and is another very solid defender. He has also quickly become a crowd favourite at 4 Pines Park with Sea Eagles members loving the commitment he shows to his team-mates and to the Manly jersey.
Foran has enjoyed a stellar return to the Sea Eagles this season with his game awareness and leadership qualities proving invaluable, especially to the younger players in the squad.
The news on Foran, Croker and Harper follows on from last Thursday’s announcement of the re-signing of forward Sean Keppie, centre Brad Parker, and winger Reuben Garrick.
This season, the Sea Eagles have re-signed the following players:
- Kieran Foran to the end of 2022 season
- Toafofoa Sipley to the end of 2023 season
- Brad Parker to the end of 2023 season
- Reuben Garrick to the end of 2023 season
- Lachlan Croker to the end of 2023 season
- Morgan Harper to the end of 2023 seaason
- Haumole Olakau’atu to the end of 2024 season
- Josh Schuster to the end of 2024 season
- Sean Keppie to the end of 2024 season
“We are very confident about the ability and future of our current squad and have therefore focused our attention on retention and development over external recruitment,'' said Sea Eagles CEO Stephen Humphreys.
"Lachlan and Morgan have worked really hard on their respective games and it is definitely showing in their contributions to the team. They thoroughly deserve the reward of their new contracts.
"We were thrilled to bring Kieran back to the Sea Eagles this year and he has been first class for us both on and off the field.
"It is great to see him really enjoying his footy and playing so well. This extension is his reward for all of his hard work and we all know he has plenty more to bring to our Club."
