Rd 2, 1977

Winger Russell Gartner and five-eighth Alan Thompson were Manly’s tryscorers in the 14-7 win over Western Suburbs Magpies at Lidcombe Oval.

Full-back Graham Eadie kicked four from nine goals

Rd 5, 1983

Manly kept the Eastern Suburbs Roosters tryless in their 22-8 win at the Sydney Sports Ground.

Second-rower Les Boyd, winger John Ribot, five-eighth Phil Sigsworth and prop Ian Thomson scored tries with full-back Graham Eadie kicking three goals.

It was Manly’s fourth win from five games under Coach Bob Fulton.

Rd 4, 1988

The Newcastle Knights came to the the 'Fortress’ but returned home empty handed as defending premiers Manly recorded a thumping 44-12 win in front of more than 10,000 fans.

Prop Ian Gately was the toast of the forward pack, crossing for two tries. He only scored three tries in his five seasons at Manly.

Centre Matt Burke, winger Stuart Davis, hooker Charlie Haggett, half-back Des Hasler, and utility Paul Shaw all scored for Manly.

The Sea Eagles used three goal-kickers that day in Greg Gibson (4/4), Michael O’Connor (2/30 and Paul Vautin (2/2).

It was Manly’s third win of the season.

Rd 3, 2005

Manly kept their undefeated record intact with a 25-18 win over the Melbourne Storm at Brookvale in front of a crowd of over 15,000.

Shayne Dunley, Daniel Heckenberg, Chad Randall, and Brett Stewart crossed for the Sea Eagles while five-eighth Michael Witt kicked four from four.

Half-back and captain Michael Monaghan kicked the field goal for the Sea Eagles.

Rd 3, 2010

Tough centre Steve Matai scored a double in Manly’s 36-12 win over the Newcastle Knights at Grahame Park, Gosford.

A strong first half saw the Sea Eagles leave the field at half-time to a standing ovation with a 24-6 lead.

Hooker Matt Ballin, full-back Ben Farrar, prop Jason King, and second-rower Shane Rodney also scored for Manly. Captain and centre Jamie Lyon had a fine day with the boot, kicking six from seven goals.

It was Manly’s first win of the season following two four point losses to the Wests Tigers and Parramatta.

Rd 3, 2011

Sea Eagles supporters had plenty to cheer about at the ‘Fortress’ in the 26-12 win over the Newcastle Knights.

More than 13,000 fans enjoyed this Sunday afternoon contest that saw centre William Hopoate and winger David Williams grab two tries each. Winger Michael Robertson also scored a try.

Half-back Daly Cherry-Evans kicked three goals.
