Teddy Wilson shines in win over Magpies

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles recorded a solid 32-16 win over Western Suburbs Magpies in the Harold Matthews Cup at Campbelltown Sports Stadium last Saturday.

The Sea Eagles led 16-6 at half-time before dominating the second half to record their fourth win from five games to sit in third place on the U16s ladder after six rounds.

Half-back Teddy Wilson (pictured) scored two tries and kicked four goals for Manly while centres Oliver Cummins and Filipo Whitehouse-Opetaia Tovio had strong games for the Sea Eagles.

Cummins set up one try and scored another to back up his hat-trick of tries from the previous week.

"Our boys really stood up to the challenge of a very strong Wests pack which allowed for some of our exciting young backs to take control,’’ said Manly Coach John Michael (pictured)

“There is plenty of character in this side and the boys are really working hard for each other. We will just keep focusing on the areas we need to improve on with the finals three weeks away.”

Manly play the Sydney Roosters in a home game at HE Laybutt Field, Blacktown, on Saturday, March 23, at 9.30am.
