Sea Eagles extend Addin Fonua-Blake

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are pleased to announce the contract extension of one of the game's best young props in Addin Fonua-Blake for a further two years.

Already contracted until the end of the 2020 season, the new deal sees the 23-year-old Tongan International at the Sea Eagles until the end of the 2022 season.

Fonua-Blake has now played 60 matches in the NRL since making his first-grade debut for Manly in 2016.

He played in all 24 matches for the Sea Eagles this season and averaged 126 metres per game including 71 tackle breaks, forming a strong front-row partnership with Martin Taupau.

Sea Eagles Coach Des Hasler said Fonua-Blake fully deserved the extension.

"It's a wonderful signing for our Club. Addin can become one of the great Manly Warringah Sea Eagles front-rowers in its history,'' Hasler said.

"This is something that Addin has really worked hard for. The most pleasing aspect is that he has a great appreciation of how he has got there and he understands it."

Sea Eagles CEO Lyall Gorman said the extension was a great reward for Fonua-Blake.

"Addin continues to grow as a player on and off the field through sheer hard work and dedication,'' Gorman said.

"As he continues that journey, I have no doubt he can go on to become one of the truly outstanding front-rowers in the game.

"I am delighted and excited, as I know our members and fans will be, that Addin has made a long-term commitment to our Club."
