Manly Warringah Sea Eagles international Tom Trbojevic scored two tries tonight in Australia's 34-16 victory over Tonga in the historic Test match in Auckland.
In front of a sold-out Mt Smart Stadium crowd that saw the Tonga fans singing in full voice, the Manly full-back scored both of his tries in the first half playing at right centre in just his fourth Test match for Australia.
The Sea Eagles were represented by four players in the Test match with Addin Fonua-Blake (Tonga) and Daly Cherry-Evans, Jake Trbojevic, and Tom Trbojevic (all Australia).
Cherry-Evans opened the scoring in the fifth minute when he picked up a loose pass to run 20 metres to score under the posts. It was Cherry-Evans' fifth try for Australia.in 13 Test matches.
Tom Trbojevic then grabbed the Kangaroos' second try after finishing off a break by full-back James Tedesco to score in the corner in the 10th minute.
Following a try to Valentine Holmes, Tom Trbojevic scored his second try (and the third of his Test career) when Cherry-Evans ran the ball on the last for Tom to touch the ball twice in scoring.
Jake Trbojevic turned in his trademark game, working hard in his fifth Test match for the Kangaroos after coming off the bench.
Fonua-Blake also came off the bench in his third Test match for Tonga and made some strong runs. The Manly prop has committed his allegiance to Tonga after playing for New Zealand in last year's Rugby League World Cup.
All four Manly players came through the game injury free and will now have a well-earned holiday.
