Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles suffered a 26-6 loss to Mounties at Lottoland tonight in round four of the Intrust Super Premiership.
The Sea Eagles went into the game on top of the ladder with two wins and a draw before suffering their first loss of the season to Mounties.
Mounties dominated possession in the opening eight minutes on the back of five straight penalties but the Sea Eagles defence stood firm.
Their hard work in defence was rewarded when hooker Joey Lussick dived over from dummy half to score next to the posts on the back of a strong run by lock Taniela Paseka on the previous tackle.
Lussick converted his own try for a 6-0 lead after 11 minutes.
Three minutes later, Mounties drew level when winger Sitiveni Moceidreke converted his own try from the sideline for a 6-all scoreline.
Mounties went to a 10-6 lead through a try to five-eighth Cooper Bambling next to the posts. Moceidreke converted for a 12-6 lead. The score remained that way to half-time.
Moceidreke scored his second try to extend the lead to 16-6 before converting two further penalty goals for a 20-6 scoreline.
Mounties sealed the win when Blake Austin scored next to the posts in the dying minutes. Moceidreke converted for a 26-6 lead.
