Manly Warringah Sea Eagles recorded a 32-22 victory over Wests Tigers at Lottoland today in round 19 of the Holden Cup competition.
Sea Eagles winger Jade Anderson finished off a nice break to open the scoring before converting his own try for a 6-0 lead after 10 minutes.
Three minutes later, Wests Tigers lock Jakob Giles took three defenders over the line to score. Winger James Tautaiolefua converted from close range for a 6-all scoreline.
Wests Tigers took the lead when centre Peter Pakoti scored for a 10-6 lead before Manly hit back to score through a try out wide to centre Blake Andrews in the 37th minute.
A spectacular dive by winger Bilal Maarbani and a sideline conversion from Anderson saw Manly take a 16-10 lead at half-time.
Manly centre Semsi Kioa extended the lead to 20-10 before Maarbani leapt high to take a crossfield kick to score his second try. Anderson converted from the sideline for a 26-10 lead.
A try to Wests Tigers prop Siaosi Nasilai reduced the margin to 26-16 before Manly five-eighth Tom Wright scored. Anderson converted for a 32-16 lead.
Wests Tigers hit back with a try in the 77th minute but the Sea Eagles held on to take the two competition points.
Manly moves to 24 points and remain in the race for a top four finish.
