Manly Warringah Sea Eagles suffered a 30-16 loss to Cronulla Sutherland Sharks in round 11 of the Holden Cup competition tonight.
The Sea Eagles opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a try to centre Brad Parker in the left corner for a 4-0 lead before the Sharks hit back a few minutes later with a converted try to lock Jayden McDonogh for a 6-4 lead.
A spilt ball by Manly full-back Tom Wright saw the Sharks go back to back tries within minutes for a 12-4 lead after 27 minutes.
The Sharks extended their lead to 18-4 through a converted try to full-back Will Kennedy after he found open space on the right edge.
Cronulla took a 24-4 lead into half-time after centre Lachlan Stein scored a soft try from dummy half.
Second Half
Manly started the second half perfectly with tries to wingers Tevita Funa and Jayden El-Jalkh to leave the Sea Eagles trailing 24-12 after 48 minutes.
Both sides scored a further try each with El-Jalkh scoring his second for a 30-16 scoreline.
The loss leaves Manly on the bottom of the ladder.
