Mike Dolce, the weight management coach for UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, has given the new Sea Eagles' High Performance Centre the stamp of approval.

An American conditioning and nutrition expert, Dolce has worked closely with some of the world’s greatest combat athletes for more than a decade. He is the weight management coach for Rousey and oversees her entire nutrition and training program.

Following Rousey’s shock UFC 193 loss in Melbourne yesterday, Dolce flew to Sydney this morning to put the Sea Eagles players through a wrestling session and to speak about his new online diet program, The Dolce Diet 3 Weeks To Shredded.

Some of the players to participate in the session included Steve Matai, Brenton Lawrence, Tom Trbojevic and Nathan Green.

The online program is a personalised diet and exercise plan designed and proven to burn fat and transform your body in just three weeks. Dolce was invited by the Sea Eagles through his association with SP Health.

“This is amazing. You guys have every single thing a world class athlete needs right here,’’ Dolce said of the new gymnasium.

“Dan Ferris (NRL Head of Physical Performance) said there was more work to be done in the gym and it needs to be cleaned up a little, but I am a kind of a dark and dirty guy. I like the gym dirty, I like to see a lot of sweat and blood on the floor, which is how you really build champions.

“I am extremely impressed with the talent of the athletes (here) and the physical demand that they are under. It is absolutely amazing.

“The way they stay in shape during pre-season workouts is something I am very respectful of. I am going to continue to educate myself on the sport. You have got me as a (Manly) fan."
