Manly Warringah players today hosted a special training session to celebrate Sunnyfield’s month of movement - Active August.

Kieran Foran, Michael Chee Kam, Jamie Buhrer and Tyson Andrews joined young adults with disability on Allambie Oval for fun training drills and a healthy morning tea. Active August is a fundraising initiative which celebrates health and fitness for everybody.

“Sometimes people with disability find it more challenging to lead a healthy, active lifestyle,” Sunnyfield CEO Caroline Cuddihy said.

“Our Active August campaign encourages all people, but particularly those with disability, to stay active and fit. Regular exercise boosts self-esteem and mood, builds strength and coordination and helps prevent obesity and lifestyle disease.

“Sunnyfield’s programs across all our disability services encourage healthy choices and active living. It’s a fundamental part of what we do. This year’s all bodies campaign is about embracing health, fitness and wellness no matter who you are.”
