Former half-back and respected sports commentator John Gibbs has named Jamie Lyon as the only current player in his best ever Manly Warringah Sea Eagles team.
Asked to nominate his 1-17 team and a coach as part of the club’s 1500 first grade games milestone celebrations, Gibbs has named Lyon in the centres alongside ‘Immortal’ Bob Fulton.
Gibbs played 81 first grade games for Manly from 1976-82 and still remains a club favourite for his unique running style of head held high with the socks around the ankles. 'Gibbsy' can be heard weeknights hosting ‘SportsToday show’ (6pm-8pm) on Sydney radio station 2UE 954am.
