It is remembered as one of the great escape victories of 2014.

The last time Manly Warringah Sea Eagles played Penrith Panthers at Brookvale Oval was in round 25.

On that occasion, the Sea Eagles recorded their third ‘miracle’ win of the season when Tom Symonds scored with just over a minute remaining to give Manly a thrilling 26-25 victory in front of a crowd of 18,654.

Penrith players and fans thought they had the two competition points in the bag after leading 22-6 shortly after half-time and then 25-18 with seven minutes remaining.

Manly had other ideas. It was the final game at ‘Fortress Brookie’ for now retired prop Jason King while centre Steve Matai was playing his 200th first grade game.

Captain Jamie Lyon had a mixed afternoon - throwing two intercept passes resulting in tries – before scoring one himself and delivering the final pass for Symonds to cross for the winning try.

What will happen this Monday night at Brookvale Oval?

Will the ‘Prince of Brookie’ Brett Stewart score to surpass the record of 151 tries he currently shares with Steve Menzies for most tries in the Manly jersey?

Be there to find out. Gates open 5.45pm. Kick-off 7pm.
