Sea Eagles centre Steve Matai will be assessed again by club medical staff early on Tuesday morning after sustaining a shoulder injury in the team's loss to South Sydney on Friday night.

The left-edge specialist is likely to have follow up scans on his left shoulder tomorrow before any determination or time frame for recovery is made.

Matai's injury occurred early in the first half of the sides 23-4 loss to the second placed Rabbitohs with South Sydney players George Burgess and Issac Luke both being charged by the Match Review Comittee with Dangerous Contact - Unnecessary Arm/Shoulder Pressure.

Glenn Stewart is continuing to work hard with his rehabilitation following his ankle surgery. The lock has been on the sidelines since he injured his ankle against Canberra back in Round 8 of the NRL.

Dunamis Lui is hopeful of making a return earlier than anticipated after sustaining an injury to his left knee in round 19 against St George Illawarra. The injury was expected to keep the forward sidelined for up to six weeks, however, Lui’s recovery is ahead of schedule and is eyeing out a return in round 24 against the Eels.

Finally, young flyer Clinton Gutherson is back running after breaking his foot against the Wests Tigers back in Round 18.
