Beaches Youth Hub
The Burdekin Association is the lead agency of the Beaches Youth Hub, which is a free mental health and service navigation hub that brings together a collaboration of support services.
Established in 2018 due to a dire shortage of youth mental health support in the Pittwater area, the Hub offers free one-on-one counselling, case management and mentoring, workshops, and events to young people aged 12-24. Services are provided by KYDS Youth Counselling, Mission Australia, headspace Brookvale, Sydney Drug Education & Counselling Centre and The Burdekin Association.
Beaches Youth Hub is supported by Northern Beaches Council and the generous donations of local supporters. In addition to their financial support, the Northern Beaches Council recently endorsed the Beaches Youth Hub to utilise the former Avalon Customer Contact Centre, enabling the expansion of Hub services and providing additional support to tackle the challenges faced by young people. This couldn’t come at a better time, with the increasing concern of mental health and wellbeing of young people.
