A wealth of international experience combined with a mixture of youth make up the new signings for the Sea Eagles in 2016. Here is a list of the new recruits who will play under Head Coach Trent Barrett.
Nate Myles
Signed for three years from Gold Coast Titans, Nate is one of the Club’s biggest signing for 2016. He remains one of the most hardened front-rowers in the NRL, having played 204 first grade games. Nate has played 29 Origin matches for Queensland, 9 Tests for Australia, and two World Cup matches in the green and gold. His experience and leadership skills will be invaluable.
Martin Taupau
Signed for four years, Martin is one of the most dominant forwards in rugby league. His signing is one of the Club's biggest since Malcolm Reilly. Martin has played seven Tests for New Zealand and his aggression and toughness will add plenty of starch to the forward pack. His impact will be enormous.
Lewis Brown
Signed for three years from Penrith, Lewis has played 150 first grade games and 8 Tests for New Zealand. He brings toughness and enormous experience to the Sea Eagles. A talented back-rower with great ball skills, Lewis can also cover centre, wing and hooker.
Apisai Koroisau
Signed for three years from Penrith, Apisai is a Fijian international who played hooker in South Sydney’s Grand Final victory in 2014. With 30 first grade matches behind him, Apisai is also a talented five-eighth.
Darcy Lussick
Darcy returns to the Sea Eagles on a new three-year deal. A Manly junior, Darcy has played 84 first grade matches since his NRL debut in the maroon and white in 2011 before joining Parramatta. Darcy provides good ball skills and solid defence.
Matt Parcell
Signed for three years from Brisbane Broncos, Matt is an outstanding hooker who set the Queensland Cup competition alight with his brilliance for Premiers Ipswich Jets. Scored five tries in a Semi Final against Easts Tigers and is tipped to have a massive future in the NRL. He can also cover five-eighth.
Tim Moltzen
Signed for one year from Wests Tigers. Tim will be hoping a new club will help restart his NRL career after a terrible run of injuries in recent seasons. At his best, Tim is a player with tremendous skills and an ability to break the line. He can play full-back, five-eighth and half-back.
Nathan Green
Signed for one year from St George Illawarra Dragons, Nathan is a talented centre/second-rower, who will be looking to find a permanent position after playing four games on the wing in 2015.
Tom Wright
Signed for three years, Tom was the most exciting schoolboy rugby prospect in Australia in 2015, with the Sea Eagles beating several NRL clubs for his signature. He can cover many positions but predominately is a five-eighth. His attacking skills will excite supporters.
John Walker
Signed for two years from schoolboy rugby, John hails from Scone and attended St Augustine’s College, Brookvale, on an Australian Rugby Union scholarship. He has played representative rugby for NSW.
Fabian Goodall
Signed for one year, Fabian is a centre who can also play second-row. He returns home to the Sea Eagles from the Parramatta Eels after playing NYC for Manly Warringah in 2012. Fabian represented Fiji against Lebanon in 2014.
