The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be looking to keep their four-point stranglehold at the top of the NRL ladder when they face the second placed South Sydney Rabbitohs this Friday Night.
A win at the Sydney Cricket Ground will go a long way to securing the minor premiership, a feat Manly haven’t achieved since 1997.
Coming off seven wins from their last eight starts, the Sea Eagles will head into the clash confident of overcoming Michael Maguire's men and extend their advantage at the top of the ladder.
The Rabbitohs on the other hand have been equally impressive in recent weeks. They head into this clash on the back of three successive victories, including the 50-10 demolition of the Knights last weekend in Cairns. The Sea Eagles will have to be at the top of their game and weary of a team in hot form.
The last time these two sides met was at Central Coast Stadium back in round two earlier this year, resulting in a fiery clash between the forward packs, and you can expect nothing different this week.
Jason King was instrumental in the Sea Eagles 14-12 victory. He took it to the South Sydney forwards and inspired his side to an impressive victory. The Sea Eagles will be looking for much of the same this week as they look to contain the Rabbitohs' forward pack, who many believe are the biggest in the competition.
The Sea Eagles have had the wood over the Rabbitohs in recent years, having won six of their last nine meetings, however over the years the Sea Eagles have only beaten the Rabbitohs 12 times from 26 starts at the Sydney Cricket Ground, which should make for an enthralling clash.
